Paul J. DeMarco

Paul DeMarco is a shareholder in the Birmingham office of Wilmer & Lee, P.A. Professionally he represents business clients specifically in civil litigation in state and
federal court.

Mr. DeMarco graduated cum laude from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1990.  He received a law degree from the University of Alabama in 1993. While a law student, he served as editor-in-chief of the Alabama Law Review.

In 2002, the Birmingham Business Journal recognized Mr. DeMarco as one of the area’s outstanding young leaders when he was named to the publication’s annual list of “Top 40 Under 40”.  He is a Leadership Birmingham and Alabama Alumnus.

In 2005, Mr. DeMarco was elected in a special election to the Alabama House of Representatives where he represented portions of South Jefferson County. He served as chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Oversight Committee for the Alabama Homeland Security Agency and Co-Chair of the Jefferson County Delegation and recognized as one of the leaders in the House of Representatives.

In 2012, he was a recipient of the “Progress for Business” Lawmakers Award by the Business Council of Alabama.

As Judiciary Chairman, he was recognized for his support of the Alabama Unified Judicial System.

In 2015, Mr. DeMarco was appointed to the Uniform Law Commission.

He currently serves as the President of the Alabama Trails Foundation.  He serves on the Board of the Jefferson County Greenways Commission. He also serves on the Board of the Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys.

Mr. DeMarco is an active member of the Chambers of Commerce for Homewood, Hoover, Vestavia and serves as the general counsel for the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce. He is a co-founder of the Hoover Small Business Alliance.

Mr. DeMarco is married to Dr. Jacqueline Dillon DeMarco. Paul and Jacqueline are the parents of a son and a daughter.
