Larry practices in the areas of tax law, estates and trusts, probate, commercial transactions, corporations and real estate in the Decatur, Alabama office of Wilmer & Lee.  He holds a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Alabama; a J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University; and an L.L.M. degree in taxation from The University of Alabama School of Law.  He has been admitted to the Alabama Bar and to practice before the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Claims Court, the U.S. District Court (the Northern and Southern Districts of Alabama), and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Larry is a member of the Morgan County and American Bar Associations (Taxation and Probate and Property Sections), the Alabama State Bar and the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives (Legal Tax Accounting Committee).  He is also a member of Phi Delta Phi and was Vice President 1976-1977.

Larry serves as chairman of the District Trustees of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church; as a trustee of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church, and as chairman of the Staff-Parrish Committee of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur.  He is a member of the Decatur Rotary Club, serving on the board of directors for the Rotary Club Foundation. He is also a founding member of the Morgan County Treasure Forest Association where he serves as treasurer.  His interests include a timber farm as well as tennis, golf, canoeing, hiking and skiing.

Larry is married to Leslie, a retired teacher of the hearing impaired, and has two daughters, Elizabeth and Caroline, both of whom graduated from the University of Alabama with degrees in nursing and special education, respectively.

Larry is a founding director of Progress Bank and Trust and serves on the Progress Bank and Trust audit committee.
